Sleeping in the Wild

This adventure took place a good couple of years ago but I recently found the pictures again and I wanted to share this with you.

In may of 2013 a good friend and I decided to go on a hike in a greener and more beautiful part of Belgium. We would go for two days and not take a tent, challenging ourselves to build a shelter for the night. After a train ride and a couple of hours hiking we started building  our shelter.

The first fase of our shelter was simple but effective.

Than we started piling on green branches for some protection from the elements and the wildlife.

With a thick layer of greenery we started piling on dried leafs to fill up all the gaps.

When we were happy with our shelter we started building a fire to cook our dinner.

The night in our shelter comfortable enough, keeping out the cold, the bigger wildlife and most of the rain. Creepy crawlies did find there way inside but luckily we had our sleeping bags to keep them from crawling all over us. All in all it was an amazing experience.
